Some of the US prophets who predicted that Donald Trump would win the 2020 election have publicly repented for the inaccuracy. Some diehard Trump supporters responded by condemning them as traitors to the cause! But despite their inaccuracy on the election, their repentance now points a way forward. Many Christians in the US have been divided over politics, some valuing their political positions more than our unity with the rest of Christ’s body. If so, the time has come for repentance. As believers, we must humble ourselves before one another and the Lord. No politician or party is our ultimate hope: Jesus Christ is our hope (and in that hope we do pray for all our and the world’s leaders, 1 Tim 2:1-2). I know many of my readers are not from the US, but for those who are or are interested, here was a post I was invited to write for Christianity Today.
