When Jesus is immersed in water, he sees the heavens split open and God’s Spirit descending on him like a dove. God’s voice from heaven announces, “You are my beloved Son, with whom I am so pleased!” The video provides more details and background, much of which Mark’s first audience would have quickly understood.
