Under your vine and fig tree?

What was Nathanael DOING under the fig tree? (John 1:48) What’s with the expression, “under one’s vine and fig tree”? (1 Kgs 4:25; Mic 4:4; Zech 3:10). Apparently olive trees work just as well. Hey, we need SHADE!
