The traditional site of the Mount of Temptation. Viewed from Jericho. In Matt 4:8, the devil tempted Jesus at a mountain. Although Matthew does not specify the mountain, Jesus may have been tempted in the wilderness near the Jordan, where he was baptized, and not far from Jericho and the Dead Sea.
