War and spiritual warfare

My wife Médine, who was a war refugee for 18 months in Central Africa, can tell you how terrible war is, including for civilians such as herself. (She recounts her experience in our book, Impossible Love.)

Andrea Palpant Dilley at Christianity Today asked me to write something about war and demons. Much more could be said about evil, injustice, and the like, and about governments or other people in power that do not just permit injustice but actually directly perpetrate it. But in terms of some biblical teaching regarding the spiritual dimension behind war, this CT article is what I was able to come up with the next day. (I gave biblical thoughts and the editor made the application explicit for the current conflict. We pray for justice and peace.)
